Life and Career
Emily Blunt is a British actress best known for her roles in The Young Victoria (2009) and The Devil Wears Prada (2006).

She was born Emily Olivia Leah Blunt on February 23, 1983, in Roehampton, South West London, England,
She has three brothers, and her Mother is a Teacher, her Father is a barrister. Crispin Blunt, Conservative Member of Parliament for Reigate, is her Uncle and her famous boyfriend of two years is singer Michael Buble, who she lives with in her home in Vancouver. The two met and fell in love after meeting backstage at one of his concerts.

She received a rigorous education at Ibstock Place School, a co-ed private school at Roehampton. However, young Emily Blunt had a stammer, since she was a kid of 8. Her mother took her to relaxation classes, which did not do anything. She reached a turning point at 12, when a teacher cleverly asked her to play a character with a different voice and said, "I really believe in you". Blunt ended up using a northern accent, and it did the trick, her stammer disappeared.

From 1999 - 2001, Blunt went to Hurtwood House, the top co-ed boarding school where she would excel at sport, cello and singing. She also had two years of drama studies at Hurtwood's theatre course. In August 2000, she was chosen to perform at the Edinburgh Festival. She was signed up by agent, Ken McReddie, who led her to the West End and the BBC, scoring her roles in several period dramas on stage as well as on TV productions, such as "Foyle's War", "Henry VIII", and "Empire". In 2001, she appeared as "Gwen Cavendish" opposite Dame Judi Dench in Sir Peter Hall's production of "The Royal Family" at Haymarket Theatre. For that role, she won the Evening Standard Award for Best Newcomer. In 2002, she played "Juliet" in "Romeo and Juliet" at the prestigious Chichester Festival.

Blunt's career ascended to international fame after she starred as "Isolda" opposite Alex Kingston in Warrior Queen (2003). A year later, she won critical acclaim for her breakout performance as "Tamsin", a well-educated, cynical and deceptive 16-year-old beauty in My Summer of Love (2004), a story of two lonely girls from the opposite ends of the social heap. Emily Blunt and her co-star Natalie Press shared an Evening Standard British Film award for Most Promising Newcomer. In 2005, she spent a few months in Australia filming Irresistible (2006) with Susan Sarandon and Sam Neill. Blunt gave an impressive performance as "Mara", a cunning young destroyer who acts crazy and surreptitiously provokes paranoia in others. She also continued her work on British television, starring as "Natasha" in Stephen Poliakoff's Gideon's Daughter (2005) (TV) opposite Bill Nighy, a role that won her a 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role.

She continued the line of playing manipulative characters as Emily, a caustic put-upon assistant to Meryl Streep's lead in The Devil Wears Prada (2006). Blunt's performance with a neurotic twist added a dimension of sarcasm to the comedy, and gained her much attention as well as new jobs: in two dramas opposite Tom Hanks, then in the title role in period drama The Young Victoria (2009). Her most recent works include appearances as antiques dealer Gwen Conliffe in The Wolfman (2010) and as ballerina in The Adjustment Bureau (2011).

Emily Blunt is a highly versatile actress and a multifaceted person. Her talents include singing and playing cello; she is also skilled at horseback riding. She was in a relationship with Canadian singer Michael Bublé, whom she met at the Australian Logie Awards in 2005, and again a few months later backstage at his Los Angeles concert. Their relationship ended in 2008. Blunt's friend, Anne Hathaway, introduced her to John Krasinski, and they have been together since November 2008. On August 28, 2009, Blunt and Krasinski announced their engagement. The couple married On July 10, 2010, at the estate of their friend, George Cloony, on Lake Como in Italy. Emily Blunt and John Krasinsky are living in Los Angeles area, California.

Blunt's British TV debut first came when she starred in a show about the life of Boudica, an ancient British warrior-queen who fought the Romans. She then moved on to star in the British film 'My Summer of Love' in 2004 - a dramatic story set in the English countryside telling of one girl's Summer of deception and lesbian love. For her role in this she received an Evening Standard British Film award shared with co-star Nathalie Press.

Without doubt however, the role that has catapulted her into stardom recently, was her part in the 2006 hit Hollywood film 'The Devil Wears Prada' alongside Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. Blunt plays Meryl Streep's arrogant and stuck up assistant left in charge to show Anne Hathaway's character the ropes of her job before she leaves. Her refusal to lose weight for the film put her in good stead with various different organisations and gained her a big fan base with women who respected and admired her decision. Entertainment Weekly went on to name Emily 'Best Female Scene-Stealer' in their end-of-summer special issue that year.

Emily Blunt has several different roles lined up for the future, her next project is rumoured to be alongside Amy Adams (Cruel Intentions 2, Smallville, Catch me if you can) in the movie 'Sunshine Cleaning' and later in an adaptation of the novel 'Cheerful Weather for the Wedding' so keep an eye out for this beautiful British actress back on your screens again in the near future!

Emily Blunt picks up American accent for Hollywood roles
Emily Blunt's ability to pick up an American accent on the spot has helped to land more roles in Hollywood.
Blunt, 26, who became famous for her roles as the young Queen Victoria and as an icy English fashion magazine assistant in `The Devil Wears Prada', will be appearing in a new movie `Sunshine Clearing'.

But she admits that she finds it a struggle to keep up the Yankie twang.

"If you're in America a lot it's easy to get into playing American," the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

"All of it, the sounds, the energies, all very different. But it's really hard to do the accent. I tend to try and stay in it all day, which is the only way I can manage it.
"It's worlds apart from what I grew up with," she added.

Emily Blunt for villain in Iron Man 3
A British newspaper is reporting that producers are hoping to sign Emily Blunt as a villain in Iron Man 3. The report also says that Gywneth Paltrow will not appear in The Avengers.

A new report in the British newspaper The Daily Mail claims that producers are “hoping to land British star Emily Blunt to play the villain in the next Iron Man installment.”

Blunt was the original choice to play the Black Widow, a role that eventually went to Scarlett Johansson when scheduling conflicts forced Blunt out of Iron Man 2. If this report is true, Blunt apparently made an impression on the producers, who are keen work with her.

“They are desperate to have Emily as the villain in the next Iron Man film and will continue to have Gwyneth playing Pepper, though she won’t feature in The Avengers,” the report said.

No mention on who Blunt might play. Iron Man’s gallery of villains isn’t too deep with women, but if Mickey Rourke’s role in Iron Man 2 (which was an amalgamation of a few different enemies) is any indication, Blunt’s role could be an original creation for the movies.

Take this with a grain of salt for now, but Iron Man 3 has been confirmed. Robert Downey Jr. is under contract, and director Jon Favreau has said he will be back. Favreau has also said that he wants to see an updated version of The Mandarin, one of Iron Man’s oldest enemies, in the film. No date has been set, but 2013 has been mentioned.

She plans to continue acting and to work behind-the-scenes after filming Harry Potter.

Career
In November of 2001 Bonnie made her film debut as Ginny Weasley, the shy and younger sister of Harry Potter's best friend, Ron Weasley. Although her scene in the film was rather small it wouldn't be long before her role took on a bigger meaning. Exactly one year later, on November 15, 2002, Bonnie reprised her role as the sweet and adorably shy Ginny in "Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets". This time her role required a lot more than a, "Goodluck!" to Harry. In "Chamber", Bonnie's character Ginny attends her first year at Hogwarts. Now, not only does Ginny have to deal with school & her growing crush on the famous boy wizard, but she also has to deal with a terrible & deadly secret that makes her key to the plot of the film.

Bonnie has continued to breathe life into the role of Ginny Weasley having done so in "Prisoner of Azkaban" (2003), "Goblet of Fire" (2005), and in the brilliant 5th film, Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix, which hit theaters on July 11, 2007. Bonnie has also wrapped up filming on the much anticapted 6th Harry Potter installement set for release on July 17, 2009. In Half Blood Prince, Bonnie's character Ginny becomes Harry's love interest & "soulmate". Although this is quiet a huge achievement for any 17 year old girl, Bonnie also has two made for T.V. movies under her belt. These include, Hallmark's production of "Stranded" (2002), & the BBC's "Agatha Christie: A Life in Pictures" (2004).

Not only is Bonnie a talented actress but she also happens to have many secret talents that may, or may not surprise you. Bonnie has stated that she loves to surf & infact went to Austrlia to do just that. She also enjoys playing football, (soccer), rounders, & tennis. Bonnie also has a passion for music that reaches beyond a favorite song on the radio. Bonnie has a talent for the piano and recorder. Bonnie is also able to do Cockney, Yorkshire, and Australian accents. But that's not all! Last but not least, she does ballet, modern, and African dances. So just what would she be doing if she wasn't an actress? She has stated she would like to own a resort in Australia.

It looks as Bonnie will reprise her role as Ginny Weasley one last time in the final Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It currently isn't clear when Deathly Hallows will begin filming but the film will be split into two parts, making for two seperate release dates. With Half Blood Prince set for release in the summer of 2009 and Deathly Hallows set for filming, we can be sure to see a lot more of Bonnie's fantastic acting in the future.

Since Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince breakout star Bonnie Wright was a ginger-haired tot, the pretty 18-year-old actress has been playing Ron Weasley's baby sister Ginny in the Harry Potter films.

Bonnie Wright says hi: photo by Lynn BarkerEarly on in the Harry Potter series, Wright was a pert and pretty child in the background emerging later as a victim of dark magic or looking shyly at Harry, beginning to develop a shadow of the attraction that would draw the duo together in their more advanced teen years.
